LAFAYETTE – The host Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos had six players score in a 20-point opening quarter against Noblesville on January 26th en route to a 72-47 victory over the Millers on ‘Senior Night’ at the Crawley Center.

Jeff, which led 20-8 after the first quarter, honored its four seniors in a pre-game ceremony.  Three of the seniors have missed time this year due to injuries.  Sara Abrams (ACL injury), Tara Perigo (broken finger), and Julie Ruff (eye surgery) all have made remarkable recoveries from their injuries to return to the floor to finish out their senior season’s for the Bronchos.

The fourth senior, Lacy Roberts, has had an interesting final season as well.  In fact, her increased offensive production during the second half of the season has been quite remarkable.  The 5’9” guard has gone from a 5 ppg scorer the first half of the season, to nearly a 10 ppg scorer during the second half of the season.

Roberts scored 13 points in the 25-point win over the Millers.  She scored eight of the team’s 15 third-quarter points, as the Bronchos extended a 17-point halftime advantage to 21 to begin the fourth (56-35).

Sophomore Brandi Richardson then took control of the game in the final quarter for Lafayette Jeff.  The 5’1” point-guard scored 11 of her game-high 26 points in the fourth, as the Bronchos won for the eighth time in their last eleven games.  She also contributed 11 rebounds and five assists.

Brandi’s cousin, Charae Richardson, added 19 points and seven rebounds as Jeff improved to 11-9 (6-3 HCC).

Noblesville, which fell to 6-12 (3-5 HCC) with the loss, got a team-high 11 points from senior Keeley Crews. Junior Chey Arvin chipped in 10 for the Millers, who will travel to Brownsburg on January 29th for their final conference game of the season.

Lafayette Jeff will play its final regular season game that same night at Clinton Prairie.
