The Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association has released its
second set of rankings for the 2008 girls golf season, and defending
state champion Martinsville has traded spots with preseason No. 1
Hamilton Southeastern at the top of the heap.
After winning
every tournament they’ve played in thus far, the Artesians now sit at
No. 1., Southeastern moves to second, with Avon bumping up from seventh
to third, Columbus North moving down one slot to fourth, and Penn
ascending from 10th to fifth.
Other upward-movers in the
coaches’ second poll are Carmel (12th to sixth), DeKalb (14th to
seventh), Chesterton (outside the Top 20 to 13th), and Center Grove
(unranked to 14th). Jennings County (16th), Western (17th), Lafayette
Jefferson (18th), and Terre Haute South (20th) also make their debuts
this week.
