Zionsville 1, Harrison 0 – Zionsville scored the game’s only run in the top of the fourth inning to remain perfect in the conference at 3-0. Harrison dropped to 2-2 in the league with the loss.

Brownsburg 12, Lafayette Jeff 1 – The Bulldogs are 2-2 in the HCC and the Bronchos are still winless at 0-6.

4A #2 McCutcheon 6, Fishers 0 – Kelsey Rummel drove in two of McCutcheon’s six runs and improved to 4-0 in the conference. Fishers dropped to 1-3.

4A #1 Avon 9, Noblesville 0 – The top-ranked Orioles cruised to thier fourth conference win of the season to go along with no setbacks. Noblesville fell to 1-3 in the league. Individually, junior Jenny Esparza pitched her third no-hitter of the season.

Cathedral defeats Lafayette Jeff 3 games to none by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-7

Boys Golf Rankings (As of 4/18)

The Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association has released its
fourth poll for the 2008 boys golf season, and Avon is this week’s big
mover in going from ninth to sixth. Otherwise, there’s not much
movement among the top schools as Nos. 1-5 – Indianapolis Cathedral,
Mishawaka Marian, Wawasee, Carmel, and Hamilton Southeastern – all stay
the same.

Among
the second 10, Lafayette Jefferson bumps up from 14th to 11th and
Lebanon moves from 19th to 14th, while Peru, Brebeuf, and Evansville
Reitz move from outside the Top 20 to 16th, 17th, and 20th,
respectively.

BT&F Rankings (As of 4/21)

It’s time for the third set of rankings for the 2008 boys track &
field season from our Davyd Cash and, despite zero movement among the
fist six schools, there are two huge leapers this week.

That
would be Avon, which rockets up the charts from 17th to seventh, and
Lafayette Jefferson, which boogies up from 16th to eighth, as we
finally get some good weather. As mentioned, the first six – Ben Davis,
Warren Central, Lawrence North, Pike, Carmel, and Gary Wallace – all
remain content with last week’s spot.

GT&F Rankings (As of 4/21)

It’s time for the third round o’ rankings for the 2008 girls track
& field season from our Davyd Cash. The news this week is brought
to you by Penn, West Lafayette, and Munster, all of whom make
significant strides in the latest state rankings.

Penn
bumps up from seventh to fifth, while West Lafayette goes from 12th to
eighth and Munster moves from 14th to 10th. Meanwhile, the first four
schools – North Central (Indianapolis), Warren Central, Lawrence North,
and Westfield – all remain the same.

Lafayette Jeff 7, McCutcheon 6 – The Bronchos scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and then Andrew West scored the game winning run in the bottom of the 8th to keep Lafayette Jeff perfect in the conference at 5-0.
